ACUPUNCTURE

Restore Balance
Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most widely-known methods of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). This healing technique aims to stimulate the body’s immune system and strengthen its ability to heal itself. Acupuncture typically involves the insertion of fine, sterile needles at precise locations (or “points”) that correspond to specific ailments or imbalances within the body.

What Does it Feel Like?

Acupuncture needles are sterile and as thin as human hair. They are used only once and then disposed of. Most insertions are completely painless, although sometimes guests experience a mild sensation that only lasts a brief moment. Many people are surprised to find treatments to be very pleasurable, often bringing them into a state of deep relaxation.

Benefits are often felt immediately after the first treatment, although the best results are progressive (as Acupuncture builds on itself as the body returns to a state of balance). As sessions progress, so too does the length of time that its effects last.

Our goal is to make sure you feel supported and comfortable. If there is discomfort, please let your Therapist know and they can adjust as needed.

Post Treatment

Just about everyone responds a little differently to an acupuncture treatment. Some people report feeling energized following a treatment, while others feel relaxed.

After your first visit, you may experience some of the following symptoms:

  • Bruising or swelling at the needle point

  • Feeling of euphoria

Acupuncture is a cleansing and balancing of the whole body. As you heal, these symptoms will pass, and you will begin to feel better. After your session, you may feel tired for a few days.

Fatigue is part of the normal healing process, and can be a positive sign that acupuncture is working. We encourage you to relax and take it easy for the first 1-3 days. It is important that you hydrate before and after a treatment.
