HALOTHERAPY

Halotherapy is a natural, antibacterial treatment of the lungs and skin.

Halotherapy a.k.a. Dry Salt Therapy is a safe all-natural treatment that mimics the microclimate of the salt cave. Salt Therapy uses salt’s natural anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and absorbent properties to provide relief for respiratory and skin conditions.  A machine called a halogenerator, grinds up pure-grade sodium chloride into micronized particles, which are then dispersed into the air in the salt room. Breathing in the fresh salt air deeply enters the respiratory system, helping to remove mucus build-up and kicks out bacteria and toxins.

F.A.Q.’S

WILL I HAVE THE SALT CAVE TO MYSELF?

Client privacy is of utmost importance to us. Maximum capacity for our Art Salt Room is 4 people, and 8 people in our Brick Salt Room with proper spacing.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Halo Therapy does not require any type of special clothing; the salt will not damage your clothes. However, please note: a fine salt residue may show on darker clothing.
Those wishing to expose more of their skin may elect to wear bathing suits for maximum exposure to the salt.  We are able to provide you with shoe coverings, hair bonnets, and robes if requested.
Lockers are available for personal items you do not wish to take into the salt room.

IS SALT THERAPY SAFE FOR CHILDREN

Yes, salt therapy is safe for children. Salt therapy is completely natural and children often respond to it faster than adults. At Salt Essentials Wellness, we have an Art Salt Room just for kids. Children can play with blocks, a giant bean bag, and toys while receiving the benefits of salt therapy. Children as young as 3 months can benefit from salt therapy. An adult must accompany all children under the age of 14. Anyone under the age of 18 must-have parental consent.

Is Salt Therapy The Same As Going To The Beach?

Living near the Gulf, we all know how wonderful the ocean’s salty air is for our bodies. Salt therapy takes that feeling and elevates it to a whole new level. The response of breathing in the dry salt therapy is more beneficial than breathing in the wet salty air from the ocean. Dry salt can move through both the upper and lower respiratory tracts whereas wet salt can only reach the upper airways.

What Kind Of Salt Is Used?

Our halogenerators use pure grade sodium chloride.

Is Salt Therapy Safe For Pregnant Women?

Yes! Salt therapy is a great choice for moms-to-be who do not want to rely heavily on over-the-counter or prescribed medication for allergies, sinusitis, asthma, and other respiratory illnesses.

How Sterile Is The Salt Room?

With over a ton of salt on the walls and floor of the treatment rooms, the microclimate of our salt room is a completely sterile environment. Salt is naturally anti-bacterial and it kills almost all bacteria on contact. In addition, our HEPA filtered ventilation system is constantly working to circulate the air in the salt room, drawing used air out and clean, filtered air in. After a salt session, the room is vented and new air is pumped into the room before each session.

What's the difference between the Brick Salt Room and the Art Salt Room?

Our Brick Salt Room is ideal for larger parties and has room for up to 8 people. The room is filled with Himalayan pink salt on the floor and the walls are adorned with backlit Himalayan pink bricks. This room is also often used for halo couple’s massages, yoga, and sound healing classes.

Our Art Salt Room is suitable for up to 4 people and is an excellent room for children’s sessions. Many of our regulars love the smaller room for the more concentrated salt treatment. The floor is covered in Himalayan pink salt and the walls are adorned with a wrap-around art piece. A TV also provides great visuals and music.

This is what the Art Room looks like set up for a children’s session & for an adult session.
